Small Changes - Use your car less
Walk or bike and create zero carbon emissions from fossil fuels. Plus, you’ll be living a healthier lifestyle!
Walk to work or places that are within 2 miles from your home when possible. People who live within 2 miles of their office still spend $384 a year to drive back and forth. If just 20 people in every state did it, we’d save more than 64,000 pounds of harmful chemicals from being released into the air - roughly the amount of toxic air pollutants emitted by industrial facilities within Washington D.C. each year.
For Students -
Only 2.5% of students that live within 2 miles of school get there via bicycle. By not taking a bus or a car, those 600,000 students are saving almost 100,000 gallons of gasoline per day.
